These photos are of the restoration work on a BCD coded rifle featured in the Damage Section. These are the poorest quality made G-43's, built by slave labor in SS run camps. These rifles are collectable because of the low production numbers. Around 43 thousand were made before the plant was destroyed in
a British bombing raid.
The deep cracks shown above are difficult to fix.
Trying to weld thin metal can
sometimes be impossible.
The welding work done to restore this
bolt housing is near perfect.
The metal used to fill the cracks is a
high quality metal that will be
difficult to crack again.
