This project required modifications to the barrel to correct damage caused by a plugged barrel during live fire as well as the poor repairs made to the rifle. Barrel steps were machined and 14mmx1.5 threads were cut, then the barrel was cut to the length of 500mm. The barrel was then crowned and re-blued. After assembly, you have a fine shooting weapon. This weapon now fires live ammo and blanks as well. The receiver has been touch-up welded, and the safety housing has been re-machined. Standard length for a G-43 barrell was 550mm, but they did make 500mm versions which are rarely seen. Creating this shorter length was the only option to restore this badly damaged rifle.
G-43's have several barrel lengths.
500, 550, 600, 620, 650, 680, 700 & 740mm.
550mm was the standard length.
The 500mm length is very rare.
Apparently someone fired a live round through this with a barrel plug installed for blank firing and blew the tip off. Then hacksawed off about 1/2 inch and soldered the sight base further back on the barrel, crooked to boot!
The barrel was re-cut to a proper 500mm
and a proper threaded muzzle sight base
was installed to original specs.

With the Shooters' Kit in place this rifle will never again suffer the damage that it once had.
By these examples you can see that you can trust your treasured rifle to be repaired by us.
